Can Kingi (OI Div late 60's) still shoot water across the room from a gland under his tongue? Answer: Yes, according to Kingi it is not all that weird, but we sure thought it was!

Per John McDaniel, there was a time in the 80's that the grid made 38 knots in a measured mile. too bad the c.o. didn't want to go for a speed record, held by the USS Horne for conventional powered steam. probably she could have done 40 knots at that time. Phil Carter recalls - In 1967 GRIDLEY made a speed run from Christchurch, NZ to Wellington, NZ. Does anyone remember how fast we went that time?
